The Barton PACT ( Partners and Community Together )
Meetings have been very well
attended by members of the community concerned about local issues they see that
effect there everyday lives. The partners are the local Police, Parish and
Borough Councillors and representatives from the schools, Trent and Dove
Housing.
The meeting is open to anyone to attend who has a issue
however small which effects there quality of life, it is an opportunity to
inform the police, councillors and other partner agencies about it with a view
to resolving the issue.
Recently the issues have been around the parking of
vehicles in Dunstall Road Barton, through PACT the issue was highlight to the
local authority which has resulted in white lines be installed around residents
drives to prevent parked vehicles obstructing them.
Through PACT John Taylor School have also now installed
matting on grassed areas along the drive to the school which in October will
enable more vehicles to park within the school grounds thus it is hoped reducing
the number of vehicles parking in Dunstall Road.
This is another way PACT has improved the quality of life
for the community.
