The Needwood Singers, conducted by Mary Langford, will be giving a Carols by Candlelight concert at Saint James Church on Sunday 16 December 2007 at 7:30 pm. Admission includes light refreshments and cost £6.00 with £3.00 for under 16's

Christmas Market – Barton Methodist Church – 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Saturday 1st December 2007

Barton Methodist Church are holding their Christmas Fair on Saturday 1st December 2007 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Methodist Church in Crowberry Lane. There will be lots of stalls for you to look out for the Christmas bargains including Christmas decorations, crafts, cakes, books, tradecraft, coffee and mince pies.

 The proceeds from the fair are in aid of the Methodist Churches' charity for the next twelve months "The National Talking Newspaper & Magazine Service". This is a charity that produces a wide variety of publications on tape for people who have sight problems, dyslexia, disabled people and others. Please give them your support.

Supper with Rhona in Village Hall – Crowberry Lane – 7:00 pm Saturday 1st December 2007

The Needwood Friends of St Giles Hospice have organised Supper with Rhona and other entertainment in Barton Village Hall on Saturday 1st December at 7:00 pm for 7:30 pm.

Rhona is well known locally as a rhyming raconteur and, whether you have heard her before or this will be your first time, you will find her act both entertaining and amusing. Rhona will be supported by Bonnyrigg (Jane and Mike Gentles and friends) with a mixture of music and songs including jigs, reels, comedy songs and ballads.

A three course supper plus coffee will be provided and there will be beer, wine, lager and soft drinks etc available to purchase at the bar.

Lichfield Branch of Inland Waterways Association Present “Stocking Fillers” on Saturday 15 December 2007 at Barton Village Hall. A lively show for Christmas with Dangerous curves. Brace yourselves for a sparkling show of fun, humour and music by these three hilarious, outrageous ladies with their sideways look at Christmas. There will be a Bar, Christmas goody bag raffle and mince pies.

Make a "Christingle" this Christmas to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Saviour and Light of the World

 The orange represents the world, the candle represents Jesus the Light of the World, the red ribbon represents the blood of Jesus when he died for us and the fruit and sweets represents God's goodness and provision.
