National Garden Scheme - Grafton Cottage Garden open - Bar Lane - 1:30 pm Sunday 3rd & 17th July 2011 & Sunday 7th August 2011

Peter and Margaret Hargreaves will be opening their Grafton Cottage garden in Barr Lane for charity again this year. The National Garden Scheme supports Alzheimers Research and various other charities. Their garden will be open for the National Garden Scheme from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Sunday 3rd & 17th July 2011 & Sunday 7th August 2011. Grafton Cottage garden created and maintained by the owners has emphasis on scent, colour theme borders, unusual perennials, old roses with many varieties of clematis. A meandering stream adds delight. The garden has been featured on BBC2 and in various publications.

BARTON BEER FESTIVAL

Holland Sports Club, Potters Way, Barton under Needwood, DE13 8BB

This year will see the 12th Annual Beer Festival take place at the Holland
Sports Club, and once again there will be a host of real ales and Ciders
on hand for the 'Festival Goers' to sample. The ales and Ciders will
include some of the very most popular ales back by popular demand with a handful of different ales from different parts of the Country, which will be new to the Festival.

Barton Beer Festival is a good family day out with a nice friendly
atmosphere. The barrels open for business at 12 midday, and there will be hot food on sale all day. Come along and see us, bring some friends and lets toast the health of the village - Cheers!

Celebration Concert for Revd. Preb. Tony Wood - Saint James Church - Tuesday 20th July 2010 at 7:30pm

Come along to the Celebration Concert for Revd. Preb. Tony Wood to  pay tribute to his 34 years of service to the Community as Vicar and Rural Dean

at 7:30 pm on  Tuesday 20th July at Saint James Church.

The concert features the Benefice Singers, Musical Director Brian Draper
and the St James Church Choir, Musical Director Dr Stephen Taylor.

Refreshments provided by Barton-under-Needwood Parish Council.
