Barton Bonfire & Fireworks Display – off Crowberry Lane – 6:00 pm Saturday 3rd November 2007

Barton scouts will be staging another traditional Barton event  on Saturday 3rd November the Barton Bonfire & Fireworks Display, off Crowberry Lane. The gates open at 6:00 pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6:30 pm and the airborne firework display will commence at 7:00 pm. Refreshments are available including hotdogs, bacon baps, hamburgers, baked potatoes, hot & cold drinks. 

Tickets available on the gate £3.00 for adults £2.00 for children & O.A.P. with under threes free.

Remembered in Love – Saint James Church - 4:00 pm Sunday 4th November 2007

“Remembered in Love” this service has proved to be very helpful to many individuals and families. Come along to this informal service to remember relatives and friends who are now at rest. Light a candle in their memory. Names to be remembered may be given at the doors as you arrive. For more information have a word with the Vicar the Revd. Tony Wood.

Barn Dance in Village Hall – Crowberry Lane – 7:30 pm Saturday 10th November 2007

Barton Methodist Church will be staging a Barn Dance in Barton Village Hall on Saturday 10th November from 7:30 to 11:00 pm featuring J. Edgar & the Hoovers.

Light Refreshments provided but bring your own drinks.

Quiz - Barton Bowls Club – 7:30 pm Saturday 10th November 2007

Barton Bowls & Social Club are holding a Quiz night on Saturday 10th November from 7:30 pm with teams of up to four people.

Jez is our question master who will test your little grey cells.

Entry fee £1.00 per head. Come along and have an enjoyable evening.

Two Minutes Silence on Remembrance Day Sunday 11th November 2007

Rev Tony Wood and Barton Royal British Legion invite you to remember the fallen by observing the traditional Two Minutes Silence at the War Memorial at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

We will remember them.

Barton Remembrance Parade and Service Sunday 11th November 2007

The Annual Remembrance Parade will be held on Sunday 11th November. The Barton Royal British Standard will lead the parade off from the John Taylor High School at 10:30 am to arrive at the War Memorial at approximately 10:45 am. Wreaths will be laid by Barton Royal British Legion and other Barton Societies. The names of the Barton fallen will be read by Rev Wood and the Legion Standards dipped at 11:00 am for the silence. The parade will then precede to Saint James Church for the Remembrance Service at 11:15 am.

Christmas Fayre – Our Lady's Catholic Church Hall – 10:30 am to 2:30 pm Saturday 17th November 2007

Barton's Catholic Church are holding their Christmas Fayre on Saturday 17th November 2007 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm at Our Lady's Catholic Church Hall in Wales Lane. There will be lots of stalls for you to look out for the Christmas bargains including cards, gifts, jams, pickles,  cakes, bric-a-brac, pick-a-straw and fresh cut sandwiches.

 The proceeds from the sale are in aid of the Churches' Building Fund.

Games Presentation Night - Barton Bowls Club – 7:00 pm Saturday 17th November 2007

Barton Bowls & Social Club are holding their annual Presentation Night on Saturday 17th November from 7:30 pm. Disco music will be played either side of the awards presentation, which will be around 9:00 pm.

Car Wash - Barton Fire Station Short Lane – 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Sunday 25th November 2007

Barton Fire-fighters are holding a car wash in aid of the families of the four Warwickshire firemen who were killed in a recent factory blaze at Atherston on Soar.

Staff will be at the Fire Station in Short Lane from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday 25th November 2007 to give cars a clean and raise funds.
