Barton
scouts will be staging another traditional Barton
event on Saturday
7th November the Barton Bonfire
& Fireworks Display, off Crowberry Lane. The
gates open at
6:00 pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6:30 pm and the
airborne firework display will commence at 7:00 pm "Synchronised
to Music by the 2007 World Fireworks Champions".
Hot & cold refreshments are available including pig roast. Sparklers for sale, Bouncy Castle & Slide. Tickets available on the gate £4.00 for adults £3.00 for children & O.A.P. with under threes free. Family (2 adults + 3 Children) £16 |

The Annual Remembrance Parade will be held on Sunday 8th November. The Barton Royal British Standard will lead the parade off from the John Taylor High School at 10:30 am to arrive at the War Memorial at approximately 10:45 am. Wreaths will be laid by Barton Royal British Legion and other Barton Societies. The names of the Barton fallen will be read by Rev Wood and the Legion Standards dipped at 11:00 am for the silence. The parade will then precede to Saint James Church for the Remembrance Service at 11:15 am. |

the fallen by observing the traditional Two Minutes Silence at the War
Memorial at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh
month.

Barton's Catholic Church are holding their Pre-Christmas Sale on
Saturday 21st November 2009 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm at Our
Lady's Catholic Church
Hall
in Wales Lane. There will be lots of stalls for you to look out for
the Christmas bargains including cards, gifts, jams, pickles,
cakes, bric-a-brac, raffle, tombola and fresh cut sandwiches. The proceeds from the sale are in aid of the Churches' Building Fund. |

Ockbrook Big Band,
in concert at Saint James Church on
Sunday 21 November 2009 at 7:30 pm. Admission includes light
refreshments and cost £7.00 with £3.00 for under 16's.
Ockbrook Big Band delighted us with their contribution to a 1940s concert two years ago. The traditional 17 piece big band has been together for 15 years and claims to be the most entertaining big band in the Midlands. They are certainly very busy and we are pleased that they can fit us in!

The Needwood Friends of St Giles Hospice have organised Supper with
with Songs evening in Barton Village Hall

29th November at 7:30 pm. Maggie O'Hara will entertain with songs from ballads to pop, West End to country . Barton Fire-fighters are holding a car wash in aid of the families
of the four Warwickshire firemen who were killed in a recent factory
blaze at Atherston on Soar. Staff will be at the Fire Station in Short Lane from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday 25th November 2007 to give cars a clean and raise funds. |
