A brief description of the history of the village, a time line of
what happened when in the village and a Roll of Honour in
remembrance of those from the village who gave their lives in the
World Wars. About 2 miles South of Barton-under-Needwood an
exciting memorial is taking shape the National Memorial Arborteum
which commemorates the past by creating a permanent and living
gift for the future.
Anybody wanting to read more about the History of the village will need to look at "Under the Needwood Tree" a glimpse into the history of Barton-under-Needwood by Steve Gardner, which was published to commemorate the Parish Council Centenary.
Another useful pamphlet

Village Guide by Jeff Pattison, which was published in 1999 by
Barton Civic Society to commemorate the millennium.
