TERMS OF REFERENCE - Human Resources and H&S Committee

The Human Resources Committee will develop & advise on the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure that the operation of Barton Parish Council complies with current legislation and good working practice. As new legislation is introduced the Human Resources Committee will use their best endeavours to ensure that such legislation is speedily and effectively embraced within the operation of Barton Parish Council.

bulletEnsuring the Parish Council complies with Employment Law, Equal Opportunities, Racial Discrimination and Disability Legislation, the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts and Health & Safety Legislation and any other relevant legislation.
bulletEstablishing and monitoring procedures for Employee Review, regular Communication, Disciplinary procedures, disputes, grievances, dismissals, redundancies and other exits.
bullet Establishing and regularly reviewing Terms & Contracts of Employment for Staff, appropriate Job Descriptions for staff, pay structures for Staff and recommend any changes to the Parish Council's Finance Committee for budgeting & Parish Council approval.
bullet Establishing and regularly reviewing the Parish Councils Health & Safety Policies for Staff, Councillors, volunteers & contractors. Confirming compliance with Health & Safety Policies by conducting rolling reviews.
bullet Establishing and regularly reviewing the Parish Council's Code of Conduct and Standing Orders
bullet Recommending training for Staff and Councillors.
